The ONLY Mention of Harry Potter You Will Probably Ever See On Here

Okay, I know I am setting myself up to be pelted by e-rocks but I am willing to take that chance because this just has to get off of my chest otherwise I may blow.

I am so sick and tired of Harry Potter. If I have to see one more blog post (mine doesn't count =) ), one more news story, one more poster broadcasting the release of ANOTHER friggin' book I am going to go ballistic.

Harry Potter has taken over the world. If he could run for president, I bet everyone would wait in line to vote for him.

Can the books really be THAT good? I mean really. Were Beanie Babies really THAT valuable? Was the Furby really THAT cool? And seriously, does the world really need another sci-fi obsession? Wasn't star-wars enough?

But I digress. The Furby was pretty damn cool, and I do give JKRowling a ridiculous amount of credit for accomplishing what she has. I mean hell, she's making reading FUN again...for everyone!!!

Maybe if I actually read the books I'd have a different opinion and maybe if I gave the movies another shot I'd be more willing to accept the fact that Harry Potter and his friends really are cool people worth every 4 hour line. But I think you'll have a hard time convincing me that ANYTHING needs this much hype, unless there's some cure for the incurable disease.

I just can't wait until this whole thing has blown over, the depression of the final book has finally had it's chance to pass on through, and the world can get back to it's regularily scheduled program.

I will probably continue to blog about Harry Potter. But I'm also going to Hell, so whatever.

Eh, it happens =)

As an avid Potter fan, please do not judge the books on the movies. The books are a bazillion (that's right, a BAZILLION) times better.

And it doesn't feel like sci-fi. I hate sci-fi, but I love Harry Potter.

Just read book 1 and go from there. I have a feeling you'll get hooked, though - your entry sounds exactly like how I was when book 6 was being released. Then I caved (with some force) and read book 1. Then 2. A week later I was done with book 6 and in love!

You're absolutely right Sara. Maybe I'll do that tonight. The least I can do is give them a CHANCE right?! =)

I agree with everything in your original post. Harry Potter is almost as annoying as Digipets.

OMG I totally found my digipet the other day (lets remind you all I was 12). haha I think I remember yelling at it in like 5th grade because the stupid thing wouldn't stop pooping.

Christi: I have a friend in Miami who told me last week, "If I hear another Anna Nicole Smith story, I'm going to go nuts". So, this too will pass! :D!

I'm a book fiend, and yet I just can't bring myself to read Harry Potter. I feel like I should since ALL these people can't be wrong, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I, like you, am terribly sick of hearing about HP and am ready for the craze to pass.

"Blah, blah, blah, blah." That's all I'm reading here in these comments.

I kid. I will kiss you guys if you read one.

I agree!!! I love reading, but never got into HP. And for the life of me, cannot understand how my co-workers, 20-, 30- and 40-somethings locked themselves up all weekend (for quite possibly the most beautiful weekend of the year) to read this book. I'm glad I"m not alone in this!

Even though I am a HP fan, and I did read the final book in two days, I am also sick of all of the hype. If we could get all these people who can't stop talking/thinking/blogging, etc., about Harry focused on something productive, think about how many of the world's problems we could solve.

hahaha Krista I'm sorry.

I'M glad I'm not alone in this. I seriously thought I was the only person on the planet who felt this way about HP. Thanks for the reassurance blog world!

I haven't been Potterfied yet. Although I am starting to think I may have to read at least ONE of the books to see what all the fuss is about. I'll try anything twice.

Yes, they really are *that* good.
